New "Learn to Bowl" Program Will Teach Bowling Skills to Consumers and Help Develop a New Generation of League Bowlers



ARLINGTON, TX - October 19, 2012-The leading entities in the bowling industry are joining forces to introduce the first "Learning Lab" session at 2013 Bowling Summit in San Antonio, Texas and unveil Bowling 2.0.  The innovative four-week "Learn to Bowl" program is designed to help bowling center owners and operators teach bowling skills to new generations of consumers and help drive participation in league bowling.  This standardized program teaches consumers the basics on how to bowl properly as well as additional tools and knowledge to help them develop the skills needed to potentially become league bowlers.  The program was created in collaboration between by the Bowling Proprietors' Association of America (BPAA), United States Bowling Congress (USBC) and Strike Ten Entertainment (STE).


"The top minds from across the bowling industry have joined forces to create Bowling 2.0 and the result is a proven program that will give owners and operators the needed tools to develop new customers, strengthen their bowling skills, and become repeat and regular customers," said Steve Johnson, executive director of BPAA.  "Bowling 2.0 draws upon knowledge and best practices from across the industry to deliver an easy-to-use program that will help consumers improve their game and have fun while doing so. This program provides a powerful tool and opens the door for centers everywhere to expand their audience and convert casual bowlers into enthusiasts."


Bowling center owners and operators who attend the "Learning Lab" session at 2013 Bowling Summit will be among the first to get a look at this new in-center resource that includes four video lessons, proprietor program guide, coaches manual, weekly student handouts and many promotional pieces to help market the sessions. The "Learning Lab" is set to take place on Monday, January 28, 2013 at 3:30 p.m. local time. 


The BPAA's Bowling Summit is the premier annual strategic midwinter conference for bowling center proprietors, managers and industry leaders, offering education, networking and industry insights on new and upcoming products.   The 2013 Bowling Summit will be held January 27-30, 2013, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel on the San Antonio Riverwalk in Texas. This "Learning Lab" session is part of the innovative education series taking place at the Summit this year.
