BVL Heroes in Our Midst Campaign
For more than 60 years, The Bowlers to Veterans Link has provided recreational and therapeutic programs and services to active duty service men and women, reservists and veterans. We are the sport’s oldest and most successful charity.
BVL efforts help build morale, boost spirits, and provide opportunities for therapeutic recreation. We bring sports and music activities, arts and crafts programs, reading materials, games, special events and much more to brighten the days and speed recuperation of our hospitalized veterans. BVL makes a difference everyday in the lives of those who have served our country.
BVL programs and services are needed more today than ever before in our recent history. Our returning service men and women are anxious to begin to rebuild their lives. It is our hope that, with the cooperation of bowling centers, we can begin to reverse the contribution shortfall which BVL has suffered over the past several years. Our wish is to be able to respond positively to the growing list of requests from VA Medical Centers, Vet Centers and other facilities including Walter Reed Army Medical Center to support our service men and women in need.
This fall, we’re asking that bowling centers join in our “Heroes in Our Midst” campaign. Through this program, you will have the opportunity to publicly recognize and thank your bowlers, staff and community members who have served or are currently serving our country AND raise funds for our important efforts. This is a multi-faceted campaign with great publicity potential. The program has proven to be a tremendous success in our test markets.
We encourage you to initiate the program in your community as soon as possible, with the culmination of events on or around Veterans Day November 11.

With your help, we can maintain the BVL pledge made in 1942: America’s great sport of bowling won’t forget the sacrifices of our service men and women. BVL ♦ 11350 Random Hills Road Suite #800 ♦ Fairfax, VA 22030 ♦p703.934.6039 f 703.5913049 ♦ www.BowlforVeterans.org |
