Renovations Nearly Complete at International Bowling Campus
Move-in day closer as project enters final phase
ARLINGTON TX – The extreme makeover at the new International Bowling Campus at 621 Six Flags Drive is in its final days as workers continue to put the finishing touches on the project.
The United States Bowling Congress (USBC) is scheduled to move into their new headquarters on the second floor Nov. 1. The Bowling Proprietors’ Association of American (BPAA) will follow a short time later. For the last several weeks USBC staff has been working from temporary offices across the street from the new building since moving south from Milwaukee. BPAA employees won’t have that problem currently operating out of their headquarters just 50 yards to the south of the complex.
Also moving onto the new campus are the International Bowling Pro Shop and Instructors Association (IBPSIA), The Bowling Center Management School, Billiard and Bowling Institute (BBIA), Strike Ten Entertainment (STE), The Bowling Foundation, and the Bowling News Network (BNN); all currently housed in the BPAA headquarters.
Within 6 to 9 months the new International Bowling Museum and Hall of Fame is scheduled to open its doors in its new Arlington home after moving from St. Louis. In addition, the campus will feature a 20-lane International Training Center, planned for completion in mid-2009.
The $14 million, 100 square-foot complex will be the joint home to about 200 employees and will sit in the shadow of Six Flags Over Texas Theme Park, the Texas Rangers Ballpark in Arlington and the new Dallas Cowboys football stadium.
