BART BURGER NAMED VP OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT BY THE BOWLING PROPRIETORS’ ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA

BPAA Advancing on Strategic Goals of Operational Excellence and Member Focus

ARLINGTON, TX – October 22, 2010 - The Bowling Proprietors' Association of America (BPAA) announced today that it has appointed K. Bart Burger to serve as VP of Business Development, effective November 8, 2010.

"We are excited to have Bart join our management team," said Steve Johnson, BPAA Executive Director.  "Bart brings a wealth of relevant bowling experience to our organization – from managing centers to overseeing operations. He is in touch with the needs and challenges facing our bowling proprietors and the industry. We welcome the fresh, new ideas he will bring to benefit our membership.”

Burger joins the BPAA after a long and successful career with Brunswick Bowling. Having spent more than 25 years with one of the industry-leading bowling retailers and manufacturers, Bart advanced through the ranks from center-level management, regional trainer, director of operations, both domestically and internationally, to his most recent position of VP of Marketing for their 100 bowling centers.

"I feel very fortunate to join BPAA at a time when membership and consumer bowling participation is growing,” said Burger. “While I have the utmost gratitude and admiration for the Brunswick family, I am genuinely excited to expand my role from influencing 100 centers to being part of a team delivering value to the more than 4,000 members of the BPAA.”

Burger is no stranger to the BPAA and its membership. He has served on the Marketing and Education & Training Committees, as well as serving on the board of directors. He has been a sought after guest speaker at state and regional trade shows and conducted numerous seminars at International Bowl Expo.

Burger will relocate to the Arlington, Texas area along with his wife Sheila and family.
