ARLINGTON, Texas– Strike Ten Entertainment (STE), the sales and activation arm of bowling, announced it has hired long-time bowling industry partner, supporter and sponsor, John Harbuck, as vice president of activation and fulfillment. He assumed this position February 1, 2012.
Harbuck is a 25-year veteran of the licensing and promotions industries where he developed national licensing and consumer promotion campaigns for companies such as the Ford Motor Company, McDonald’s, Amoco and Texaco. In the late 1990s he co-founded Leading Edge Promotions and soon after launched the first national NASCAR Bowling League promotion, the first of many for the bowling industry. Under Harbuck’s leadership, Leading Edge quickly became the “go to” provider of “licensed league promotions” to the bowling industry delivering highly successful products that included the Cartoon Network Bowling Club, Disney Bowling Club, Star Wars Strike Force and the recent Transformers Bowling League among others and helped proprietors introduce over a quarter of a million new bowlers to the sport.
“Strike Ten is pleased to have John Harbuck as the newest member of the team,” said Frank DeSocio, president. “He brings an extensive background of experience and success in the licensing and consumer promotions fields which will be an immediate asset to Strike Ten Entertainment and its partners.”
In 2009, Harbuck co-founded and launched OnTheBallBowling.com, a bowling centric e-commerce website through which consumers can design and purchase their own one-of-a-kind bowling ball or bowling pin. OnTheBallBowling.com is the only company in the industry with the unique ability to print digitized, full color images onto bowling balls or pins and deliver, affordable single unit orders.
Harbuck will report directly to STE President Frank DeSocio and usehis 15+ years of experience in developing and implementing promotional league programs to develop and activate similar league programs exclusively for STE member centers. His responsibilities will include managing and activating Strike Ten’s major sponsor accounts and leveraging the sponsorships to maximize value for both the sponsors and STE’s 2200 member centers across the U.S.
Harbuck is a casual bowler, golfer and tennis player and is active in his hometown of Alpharetta Georgia, where he coaches youth sports and volunteers his time assisting with other community initiatives.
